M4T FAQs

What's the difference between the 1-Battery and 3-Battery combo? +

Both include the M4T aircraft, RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller, charging hub, power adapter, propeller sets, and storage case. The 3-Battery combo adds two additional flight batteries, giving you up to 2.4 hours of continuous hot-swap flight time — enough for extended inspections, full search patterns, or all-day field operations without stopping to charge. Do I need a license to fly the M4T commercially? +

Yes. You need an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate to fly commercially in the U.S. If you're flying for a public safety agency — law enforcement, fire, or EMS — there are specific COA and public aircraft operation pathways that may apply. Every TerraXplore purchase includes a full Regulations Package covering FAA requirements, operational guidance, and public aircraft operation notes.

What software does the M4T use for thermal analysis? +

The M4T runs DJI Pilot 2 on the RC Plus 2 controller for mission planning, live thermal feeds, AI tracking, and real-time temperature measurement. For post-flight thermal analysis, DJI's Thermal Analysis Tool (DTAT 3.0) lets you mark, analyze, and process images to flag abnormal temperature points — no third-party software required. For fleet management and remote operation, DJI FlightHub 2 is also fully supported.

What warranty does the M4T come with? +

The M4T comes with a 12-month limited warranty on the airframe, gimbal, thermal camera, RC Plus 2 controller, and core electronics. Battery warranty covers 12 months or 200 charge cycles, whichever comes first. Because TerraXplore is a DJI Authorized Dealer, your warranty is registered directly with DJI — you get full manufacturer support, not a gray market workaround. Can I trade in my current drone toward an M4T? +

Absolutely. TerraXplore accepts any make and any model drone as a trade-in toward a new M4T, T100, LD220, or T60X. Fill out the trade-in form and we'll send you a valuation within 1 business day. Most trade-ins are valued between $2,000–$15,000 depending on make, model, age, and condition.
